Our Mission

We exist to lead people to become deeply devoted disciples of Jesus.

OUR CULTURE

It’s not just what we say, it’s who we are.

  • A church that is multigenerational, multiethnic, and multiplying.

A family where no matter what you look like, where you’ve been, or what you’ve done, you can belong here.

  • A church that is fully surrendered to and fully empowered by the Holy Spirit.

A place that empowers others to make a difference in their homes, their workplaces, and in their neighborhoods.

  • A church that is filled with passion, energy, and enthusiasm.

A group that is marked by radical rhythms of joy, generosity, praise, and hospitality. A group of people that is so full of life, that the city can’t help but take notice.

  • A church that chooses unity over uniformity.

A community that is devoted to doing life together. A life that is shared through messy prayers, loud tables, and open doors. A community where strangers become friends and friends become family.

OUR

STRATEGY

  • We will provide a place where people encounter the life-changing presence of God. A place where people can be equipped, empowered, and encouraged to take their next step in their faith. Our services will be a fun and welcoming place where people will want to invite their friends and family.

  • We will create consistent opportunities for people to build meaningful and lasting relationships within the church. Our small groups will be a place where every person who calls DEVO Church home can be fully known, loved, and challenged. We believe that lasting life change happens in community.

  • We will lead people to become deeply devoted disciples of Jesus. The Great Commission wasn't a suggestion and information in the mind alone isn't enough. We need transformation in the heart. Our model is simple yet intentional, and can be broken down into three goals: Be With Jesus, Become Like Jesus, and Do What Jesus Did.

  • We will strive to be a church in the city, for the city, establishing an intentional presence in the areas of greatest cultural influence in our region. For the church to continue to be relevant, we must be where people are and answering questions people are asking.

We will build a strong digital presence because we believe the creative use of social media can be one of our greatest assets in reaching the lost. We will consistently create engaging and encouraging content that reaches the next generation and points to hope in an increasingly hopeless world.

  • We will empower and mobilize people to fulfill their purpose and play their part in Jesus' rescue mission for the world. We will establish strategic partnerships with outreach organizations that are making the greatest impact in the inner city.

We refuse to sit on our hands while people are suffering in the streets. We will be a church that afflicts the comfortable and comforts the afflicted.

OUR CITY

In Denver As In Heaven

Denver is a city filled with great beauty and potential. It is a place where the wonder of nature and the culture of the city combine to create one of the largest regional hubs of influence and one of the most unique and thriving cities in America.

Denver is the 6th fastest growing city in the US, with a flourishing economy. Millennials and Gen Z currently make up the greatest segment of those moving to the metro. These are also the most unreached/unchurched generations in the US. As the city expands, we believe the church must be going where the population is growing.

While Denver is filled with beauty and potential, it is also a city filled with brokenness. With over 2 million people claiming no religious affiliation or connection to a local church, the metro area compares statistically with other increasingly post-Christian cities of the Western US, such as Portland and Los Angeles. Homelessness is on the rise at unprecedented levels, drug use and mental health issues continue to rise, and Denver ranks as the third loneliest city in the nation. But more than statistics, these people have names. They are our neighbors, our friends, and our family. They are the people that God has called us to reach.

We believe that when the church, God’s “Plan A” for humanity, fully embraces both the beauty and brokenness of a city like Denver, the miraculous can occur. That lives can be transformed, that neighborhoods can be redeemed, and that the city can be impacted forever.
